The two most important things in life are good friends and a strong bullpen.”
After years of watching my beloved baseball team, and most notably its bullpen, relinquish late leads and would-be victories, I’ve come to appreciate the sage remarks of former manager Bob Lemon. Over time, I’ve also come to appreciate that no matter how heartbreaking a tough loss can be, losing a good friendship is infinitely worse – more so when it’s the result of a business endeavor, successful or otherwise.
For this risk alone, I decided very early in my life that I would avoid mixing friendship with business -- unless it was the right business with the right friend.
Authentic City Partners is that business, and there is no doubt in my mind that Evan is that friend.
We believe that in time we will accomplish great things, but we fully recognize the very real possibility of failure. No matter how grand our successes or crushing our failures, we recognize that the ultimate litmus test for our success will be our friendship. This is the most important thing.
